My name is Molly Harris and my husband (Ashton), son (Alex) and daughter (Lilly) just moved to the Frederick area in July 2023. Prior to moving here, we lived in Marietta, Georgia for 9 years where I served as a preschool teacher for 3 years and a fitness Coach for 5 years. I have my bachelor of fine arts degree from University of Alabama. As a preschool teacher, I enjoy teaching children some of the fundamentals about music, colors, shapes, numbers, and letters that will last with them throughout their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, spending time with my kids, paddle boarding on Lake Linganore, and going on new adventures. I look forward to working at Wee Folk School this year and getting to know each of your kiddos!
Hi!! I’m Britney Summers! I joined the Wee Folk staff in 2023 as the assistant teacher in the Monday/Wednesday 2’s class. I am a mother of four boys. My oldest started our adventure with WFS in the transitional 5’s class and currently my other three boys are attending Wee Folk. When I’m not at WFS, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, running (a lot), coaching my half marathon training group, reading books, and being anywhere that has a beach! I love watching the kids grow and learn new things. I am blessed to be a part of the Wee Folk family!!
Hello, I am Kailee Mauriello! I was fortunate to have gotten an early start in the classroom. As a freshman in high school, I began an Early Childhood Education program in which we studied human growth and development, spending time in a functioning classroom to support our education. I have been making lesson plans and, more importantly, taking care of children ever since. After my move to Maryland a few years ago, I started taking care of four children for a family in Middletown. The youngest two attended Wee Folk's 4-year-old program, where they developed a great relationship with school and an understanding of their relationship with Christ. Now, the twins are in school full time, and I am lucky to be a part of the Wee Folk team!
Hi! I am Cassie Reniers, and I began at WFS in 2023 as an assistant in the three-year-old class. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master’s degree in Art Education. I have had a variety of jobs including news photographer, teaching, graphic design and marketing. My greatest accomplishment so far is being a mom! I am a photographer, and I also enjoy doing activities with my kids, like arts and crafts, music and watching movies. I am excited to “go back to school” at Wee Folk!
Hi! My name is Gretchen Mitchell, and I began teaching at Wee Folk School in 2023. Prior to that I was a
preschool assistant and teacher for the 3- and 4-year-old programs at Middletown United Methodist
Church. My education background began at Marshall University in Huntington, WV and completed in
1994 when I attained my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Ohio Dominican University.
I was a proud Navy wife and stay-at-home mother to our three sons for the 20 years as my husband
served in the medical service corps. I spent many of these years volunteering regularly in our boys'
schools and serving in various ministries at church. My husband's military duties required us to move
often, but we were fortunate to spend many of those years in Maryland which we have now made our
forever home since his retirement from military service.
As far as interests go, I love to travel, especially to places where nature is the primary attraction.
Oceans, beaches, mountains, lakes, waterfalls, hiking trails, national parks... l enjoy them all. I love
American history and living in Maryland provides such rich opportunity to literally walk through much of
it. What a blessing. I enjoy making my house a home, gardening, reading, and cheering for my favorite
hockey team the Washington Capitals.
Hello! I’m Kathleen Watts and have been a sub at WFS since 2021. It’s been fun floating from class to class and getting to know many families in the program, but I’m thrilled to have a new role as of 2023 as one of the TWTh 3 year old class teachers! Prior to teaching at Wee Folk, I was a five day 4 year old teacher at MUMC in Middletown for 12 years. Being at school with these precious preschoolers is my happy place. They have such fresh and pure insights into this amazing world, and I love seeing things through their eyes! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking/hiking, cooking, gardening, and spending time with my family!
Hi! My name is Heather McCubbin, and I have been teaching school since 2010. I began at WFS in 2021. I am the teacher for the M-F/TWTh 4’s class. I have three grown children and live in Frederick. I enjoy teaching this age as they grow so fast and love to learn everything they can! Seeing that “light bulb” go off when they learn to write their name, cut something by themselves for the first time or suddenly recognize words is so rewarding to me. I love watching the Washington Capitals, reading, traveling and going to movies.
Hello! I am Michele Hahn. I have been at Wee Folk School since 2000. I have been blessed to have been an assistant teacher with all ages at Wee Folk School. I am currently an assistant teacher with the TWTh 3’s, and I love it! Wee Folk is a wonderful preschool! I love working here, but it’s really not work because I get to play and teach the children. My daughter and son were blessed to go Wee Folk School many years ago! They attended 3’s through kindergarten. When I am not at Wee Folk School, I enjoy spending time with my family & friends. I enjoy reading and gardening. I am also happy to be a church member at Evangelical Lutheran Church.
