About Wee Folk School
Over 30 years ago, Wee Folk School opened its doors to the Frederick community as a warm and welcoming environment where preschool children ages 2 to 5 learn, grow, and thrive. We believe that each child is special and continuously strive to ensure all of our students feel safe, accepted, and affirmed. We are an approved preschool by the State of Maryland and a ministry of Evangelical Lutheran Church where children of all religious backgrounds are welcome.
A preschool child is a creative, responsive, and intelligent little person. Our goal is to partner with parents to help children grow as much as possible at their own pace and develop a lifelong love of learning. We accomplish this through careful, loving guidance that begins with qualified teachers who are sensitive to the needs of each individual child. Our programs incorporate developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities into the day with an emphasis on social and emotional growth.
The staff at Wee Folk School includes teachers and assistants who are caring, skilled professionals with a strong understanding of early childhood growth and development. Several of our staff members have children who attended Wee Folk School and they happily share their continued enthusiasm and commitment to the school with the Frederick community. All activities are developmentally planned and supervised by our staff and small class sizes ensure that each child receives individualized attention. We invite you to meet our staff and teachers to learn more about what makes Wee Folk School so special!
